Internal Relations Coordinator Rukayat Giwa is a young lady with a future as bright as the sun. Born in Lagos, Nigeria and raised in Bakersfield, California, Giwa has the ability to face any challenge that comes her way. Rukayat is currently a graduating senior majoring in American Studies with an emphasis in Technology and Society and an African American Studies Minor. She loves talking about technology and is interested in how technology can be utilized in different societies. Rukayat will be serving as this year's Internal Relations Coordinator and is excited for everyone to experience Berkeley as she has for the past four years. Prior to being a coordinator, Rukayat currently teaches a DeCal course on "The Art of a Short Film, has been an active board member of the Haas Undergraduate Black Business Association for the past three years, interned at Google in the K-12 Education Outreach department and was the campaign manager for Berkeley's current black Associated Students of California Senator and . When she is not busy being involved in the black community on campus, excelling in classes or reading the New York Times, Rukayat is making videos.
