Registration Coordinator Jalessa Noel Bryant is serving as this year's Registration Coordinator. Under the motto "Let's Get to Work!" Jalessa strives to make sure that every campus is well informed and timely with getting their constituents registered for 2010-2011's highly anticipated African Black Coalition Conference at UC Berkeley. Bryant's passion towards community organizing began as an intern for the African American Student Development Office as a Project Coordinator Intern leading up to her position as 2011's Logistics & Registration Coordinator for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Kappa Chapter's 90th Anniversary Weekend. As a passionate education researcher, Jalessa is interested in seeing the implementation of this year's critical issue addressing the school-to-prison pipeline. Bryant is fifth year, graduating senior American Studies major with an emphasis in Socio-cultural Strategies for Child Development. In addition to completing her Education minor, she's currently writing a thesis about how culturally relevant pedagogies for urban communities influence identity development in school-age children. She hopes to continue her passion for educational reform in graduate school, in pursuit of a PhD in Educational Psychology. |
