Outreach Chair for the Black Student Union Amani Gabrielle Odom. Born in the beautiful city of beaches and palm trees home for Amani resides in lovely Los Angeles. Amani is a second year Social Welfare, Legal Studies Double-Major with a Minor in Dance. On the days that she isn’t hitting the books, she can be found dancing her way through campus. As a woman of action, Amani has committed to not only bettering herself but more importantly her community as a whole. She's proven this in the past by taking trips to Mexico and Jamaica for missionary work and working with kids who have autism through the Special Needs Network Inc. and now is showing that dedication by being apart of the 2012 conference.
As the Outreach Coordinator for the Black Student Union Amani wants to expand and strengthen the black community on all campuses, but knowing that it all starts at home she knows that in order to expand we must first come together as one. Being born in the city of big dreams, Amani always thinks BIG when reaching for her goals, so why settle for less when its time for CAL to host the 2012 ABC Conference? That’s why this year Amani has made it her goal to help put on the best conference ever. Amani views this Conference as an opportunity to work with members of her community, help grow the bond between all UC’s and strengthen her talents as a community leader. |
